Geography

Geography is the superior blend of all the best human knowledge. As we, the mankind, receive our knowledge through interaction with our surrounding environs and do apply it in it purposefully. This discipline of knowledge deals with in depth description of our environment, so to say our mother earth or the Globe. Thus it unites the best of all knowledge of man with the thread of rejoice of nature-study. The objective or vision of the department of Geography, Panchur College is just to follow the said characteristics of the discipline for maximizing heart-felt ingrown natural love foe our nature, systematically following the advancement of our society using the syllabus set up by the University of Calcutta. So that, in future our student must stand as benefactor of our society.

To fulfil the aim, plenty of classes are provided on regular basis. Besides the theoretical class- discussion, the department is committed to provide necessary practical classes. The Geography laboratory is enriched with ICT technology (smart class facility). Moreover necessary teaching-learning aid, instruments and other materials like, Topographical maps, rocks and minerals, Aerial photographs, Stereoscopes, Tracing tables, Computer etc. to serve authentic knowledge of geography in 1:1 aspect. ‘Advancement Always’ is the motto of the department. Now we are offering the general classes under the guidance of, faculty of Geography (SACT), Sri Satyabrata Karmokar, M. A. (Geography & Environment Management), SET(Geography), NET(Geography). In near future we shall offer classes of the Geography Hons. (already applied) surely. So let us join En Mass to see the nature nature closely with the discipline of Geography and off course the department of Geography, Panchur College.
