History

History is not the subject of mere dates and battles. It helps us to know our past, with that knowledge we live the present and construct our future in the right way. It is the mother of all subjects. Besides that History is very useful subject for all the competitive exams. So we have to love the subject. The Department of History in Panchur College came into existence with the establishment of the college in 2008. Only general course was started at the beginning. The Honours course was started during 2010. Competent teachers are associated with the Department. At present there are three teachers in this department. Many students who have passed out are doing well in the post graduation level. Under CBCS system, results of the students have been quite remarkable. Apart from formal academic activities, the Department engages the students in organising and participating in Seminars, Debates, visiting places of historical importance and various cultural activities. The Department has organised many Seminars with eminent speakers, in which students participated actively. Department of History has a resourceful library to cater the growing needs of the students. The teachers are always ready to help the students in every possible way.
